Apple Tree in September

Apple tree leafing out in September.

There was one Crimson Crisp apple dangling from a branch, so I picked it, took it inside, washed it, and ate it. Fall was never so sweet and crunchy.

If it would stop raining, I’d make a trip to the garden for anything that is left. It produced a lot of goodness this year. Some things went well, some less so. Gardening is constant learning. I am thinking ahead to garlic planting next month, and ordering seed, fertilizer, and a few supplies. The cycle never ends.

Elon Musk dropped millions of dollars into the U.S. Senate race in Iowa. I made a small donation to Democrat Josh Turek who definitely has a shot at being Iowa’s next Senator. I don’t have Musk’s bank account, in fact, I need my Social Security to hit to cover the donation. It is what I can do.

Somewhere in memory is a meal of cottage cheese and fresh tomatoes with salt and black pepper. I didn’t feel like much for dinner on Sunday, so that’s what I had on the last day of summer. It will sustain me until morning.
